Highway 1..Monterey Bay

We began our roadtrip proper on highway 1 after we left Santa Cruz. highway 1 really is the only road to take if you are thinking of heading down to the west coast. its absolutely stunning, around every corner is a fantastic view. you'll see some of the pics we took along the way. every few hundred yards there are "vista points" where you can pull in and take photos or just sit and watch the sea.

As for Monterey itself, it was pretty forgettable really. We cant think of a lot to say about it...that says it all really.

theres a great thai place about 5 mins outside town if your passing through. D'ont though

We stayed one night in a decent enough motel about 15 mins walk from town centre. theres a nice enough seafront and a pier..one pretty crap english bar an some closed restaurants...although theres a great Thai place about 5 mins outside town if your passing through. D'ont though. Next...
