I'll keep this blog short - and add some more photos of our time at Disneyland.  We returned on Thursday and spent half the day at Disneyland then an hour or so in the California Adventure Park across the road.

It was all much the same as the previous day.  I think being english we find it harder to enjoy the corny side of Disneyland, and take it all a bit too seriously.  You have to put on your kid hat, throw away any form of sense and join in the fun.  Unfortunately I'm far too cynical, and found the various shows all just a bit too much.  There was one ride where you go round in a boat "around the world" whilst this really really annoying song plays over and over with the same lyrics.  By the end of the ride I was ready to kill myself.  Matthew had a good time though, said "Again", but was quickly dragged out!

think Pluto found the whole thing hilarious aswell

I wore my "Bored" t-shirt round Disneyland, pretty much summed up how I felt.  Sorry I know I should be more grateful....

The highlight of the day was the Power House, which involved opening a door, whereupon loads of lights flashed and a massive roar erupted.  We got Matthew to open the door, though he didnt get there in time, and when someone else opened it Matthew jumped out of his skin and then screamed his head off.  I know I shouldnt have laughed, but it was quite funny at the time - and no permananent damage done.  Pluto, who was signing autographs nearby, came running over and opened the door again, which made Matthew scream once more.  I think Pluto found the whole thing hilarious aswell, they must get a bit sick of signing autographs (which is basically all these characters do).

Matthew also cried when he met Goofy.  Credit to Goofy, he was quite friendly and managed to get a smile out of Matthew.  We did get fed up of getting pictures with men/women in silly suits, so sorry kids didnt get to fill the album.  Maybe next time (if there ever is a next time!).

California Adventure Park was a massive dissapointment. This park is like a big fairground, similiar I suppose to that in Blackpool.  But many of the rides were closed, including the roller coaster, and others seemed a bit rubbish.  We didnt hang about long - though Matthew enjoyed the slide there for a while (could have just took him to the park).

We boycott the restaurants for tea, going instead to the supermarket and picking up some nice fruit, veg and chicken - was a lovely meal and just what the doctor ordered.
