Only my second day in Buenos Aires and I am in love with this city!  If I had to choose somewhere to live in South America, this would be it.  I´m staying at a great hostel called Hostel Estoril on Av de Mayo which is a great location close to many sights.  It has heating which is a great comfort since its about 9 degrees here.  Alot of the occupants are studying spanish at the nearby Elebaires school.

The surrounding area has a very European feel with many beautiful old buildings and wide sidewalks.  I could be in Vienna or London but then I realise that I don´t understand a word of what people are saying.  There`re lots of good looking, well groomed men in BA...another reason for me to come back :P

There are alot of good looking guys in BA....

I met up with Florian, my Swiss friend who has been living in BA for the last 10 months.  He kindly invited me to his place for some yummy vegetable soup.  Florian has become quite a cook during his stay here.  We took the efficient metro to his neighbourhood.  Transport is really cheap here, only 70 pesos (30c) to get anywhere on the metro which spans across a number of barrios.   It´s really easy to get around as there are only 3 lines and the stops are quite clearly marked.

I was supposed to go to Colonia, Uruguay today but didnt wake up in time to get the ferry across.  It only takes 1 hour by express ferry but you need to get to the port 1 hour earlier for immigration processing.  So I am hanging out with a new friend, Regina and we will explore BA today.  Regina is originally from South Korea but she has been living in Brazil for the last decade.  Apparently there`s a big korean and japanese population living in Sao Paulo.  I´m hoping to try the famous steaks and check out a tango show.

Ive forgotten to bring my camera cable so I am posting up other people´s pics in the meantime.
