In our own words, an introduction to our family:

Scott: (okay, so Kjersten wrote this).  Dad, 41 years old but still 24 at heart, city planner, great husband and dad.  Needs to stay busy (don't all boys) and collects ALL Gear.  There is nothing this Man doesn't do, with the possible exception of car maintenance and house repairs but this can be hired out while husbands and Dads cannot.  He loves backpacking, walking the shotgun with the dog, fishing, skiing, camping.  Sonja is appalled that her Dad knows who Death Cab for Cutie is and has seen them in concert.  XXL hat size.

"My secret ambition is to become a hippy" -mom

Kjersten:  Mom, 41 years old, mechanical engineer.  Enjoys family, nature, being active, and reading.  Known for her planning, lists, attention to detail and obsessive traits.  Secret desire-become a hippy, live in bus complete with birkenstocks, naked children and dread locks, free from obligations-most likely to see me at the barter fair or organic food farm. I could live off of mashed potatoes and ice cream.

Sonja: I am 12 year-old girl who loves to talk to her friends and I love to play basketball and softball. I am a sixth grader at Hutton Elementary School. After I get promoted this year I am going to Sacajawea Middle School. I have many friends who support me all the way. My mom is the best although a bit strange to want to me a hippy. My dad is cool even though he always tries to embarrass me in front of my friends (especially in front of boys!).

Daniel:  I am almost 10 years old and will turn 10 this year in Siem Reap, Cambodia.  I love sports of all types and hope to play NBA basketball for the Miami Heat when I grow up.  My favorite foods are apples but I also like almost any fruit or vegetables.  My favorite summer activity is backpacking and we also camp and fish a lot.
