It was a beautiful day in Dumbarton today, with no clouds in the sky. Meaghan, Karin, Christy, Helena and I made our way to Dumbarton Castle early in the afternoon. As we were driving, we were noticing that mountain that the castle was atop was getting bigger and bigger.

Upon arriving at the gate, we then realised that we would be climbing over 500 stairs to make our way up to the top. The admission for the 5 of us was only £18 which is not too bad considering the prices everywhere else in the UK.

Once we climbed to the top we noticed that there was not much of a castle at all. There was a few out buildings and some old stonework, but the view was amazing. We could see all of Dumbarton, including the top of the tower at our house. Looking across the river Clyde you could see the shoreline of Langbank and Gleddoch.

After climbing down the 500+ stairs we decided to call it a day and head back to the house for dinner.
