Wandering around a park on my second last day I literally bumped into this castle. It was surrounded by people rowing on a lake and swing dancers performing in a gazebo. It was awesome! I stayed there for about an hour just looking around.

Well, Spain....What can I say, I totally loved the place.  Its definitely been my favpourite spot on the trip so far.  However we are in Rome at the moment and Iàve gotta say I having a pretty damn sweet time over here too.

But before I go to heavily into the Roman stuff I thought Iàd fill in a few gaps in the Barcelona edition to illustrate a little better what we have been getting up to.

We have been meeting up with a bunch of different travellers every other night and we always end up doing something amazing.  One of the first nights we went to see a traditional flamenco show which included some of the most amazing guitar playing I've ever seen, and dancers and singers and, of course, sangria.  It was so good that Lee and I ended up going three times in one week and every time there was a different act on.  The thing I loved about it was the real emphasis on having a good time.  At the end of two of the three shows, the performers would call up some of their friends out of the crowd who were just there to watch and they'd turn off all the microphones and just all have an informal......kind of jam for about 20 minutes.  It was awesome and you could really tangibly feel the electricity in the room amid the shouts of "OLE!" from the crowd.  It was definately one of the highlights of the whole trip.

This was the view from the castle.

Ever jumped on a huge bronze cat in Barcelona?  Well, if you haven't I'll give you the recipe.  You start out hanging out with a group of about 6 Americans in a hostel.  Add a  couple of drinking games and a lot of air guitar.  Then add a few bottles of wine and another lonely aussie.  Finally go and try and find a bar in barcelona and walk down a street called Carrer Sant Pau.  In no time you'll see a giant bronze carricature of a cat and if you can resist the urge to jump on it and take a cheeky photo or 2 you're a much better person than the 9 of us.

Anyway, sufficed to say that we had a ball just meeting other travellers and getting up to mischeif which appears to be par for the course in Barcelona.

And now it's on to Roma!
