Taganga and Detox

Well a pack of six disheveled travelers turned up to Taganga the day after carnival, we had just finished saying goodbye to Neil and Tim who were heading to Cartagena and Richie who was heading south so all that was remaining was myself and Jo, Axe, Kev, Greg, Peter (the Machine) and Alaskan Bob.

We were all pretty keen to do as little as possible and not drink for a few days except for Peter who was keen to get on it..hence the nickname "The Machine".  Well Peter ended up going out by himself and the rest of us ended up at restaurant right on the beach eating pizza, drinking soft drink and watching a very nice sunset over the bay and a few scattered fishing boats.

We had managed to find ourselves a nice little self contained house on the beach (literally 20m from it) that slept six people so we were all pretty happy to chill out in the house during the night and drink fruit juices (best we have ever had) and lie on the beach during the day.

That lasted about three days then Friday came around (which we have been assured only comes once a week) so we hit the beers and headed out to a local bar called the Garage which was pretty good.

Following day woke up a little rusty but nothing a swim and banana/passion fruit smoothie couldn't fix.  Decided to head into the nearby and sizable town of  Santa Marta for drinks that night in a club called Open I think which was pretty good and as usual we all ended up pretty messy.

Enjoyed one last day of Detox doing what we do best...nothing, before deciding we really should get out and see a bit of Colombia.
