"Blood Brothers"
From "Blood Brothers" in Coventry, United Kingdom on Jan 30 '06
Last night we went to see "Blood Brothers," which was a requirement for everyone in a few of the English courses as well as the Inter course - so, we all went.Â
The play was really good, but certainly not Broadway material. The music was good, too, but if I hear one more reference to Marilyn Monroe I might just scream. It was also interesting to see adult actors playing the role of childen...though it kind of got a little obnoxious after awhile. Here's a diference from the plays I've seen at home: the actors came out at least 4 times for bows, and it was only the last time where they smiled. It was if they remained in character even after the show was over, and the woman who played the mother continued to cry and look as if her sons had, indeed, just been killed even throughout the audience's applause.

The theater was small, but the foaming fountain outside was pretty interesting to look at.
As hard as I tried to fight it, my eyes closed several times throughout the show and it felt as if I instantaneously dozed off. I need to get control of this. In the morning, I'm totally alert and don't feel tired at all...but as the afternoon progresses, I find I could probably sleep standing up if I had to.
