I Slept in Today
From I Slept in Today in Maastricht, Netherlands on Jan 24 '06
Well I slept in until 2 today, which seems to be the norm if I don't have anything to get up for. It was really nice, I love not being tired! Today I didn't do very much. I went to the gym and signed up for a student pass. I couldn't remember by address or my phone number, but they still gave it to me. Then I came home and had planned to run to the grocery, but it was too late (6:00). So I showered and heated up my leftover chicken and wine.
I also turned Nick onto the Bourne moves, he is watching the second one right now and really likes them. We leave for Amsterdam at 7am tomorrow, and we all decided to stay there until Sat., but we hadn't booked a hostel. So a couple other kids were going to book them, when they realized that it was difficult to get a good one this late (I guess another lesson learned). So like usual I took over looking for a hostel for 10 people. I was all over the place and finally found a good website I could understand. I booked it for 10 people in a room that has between 16 and 20 beds. It was only 20 euro the first night and 21 euro the second night. The problem booking was that for a lot of hostels you have to stay both Fri. and Sat. We all need to get back on Sat. to start on HW and get a few things done. So right now it looks like I saved the day, but I guess we will see how it is tomorrow.

It was Grandma's birthday today, so I called her this morning and talked to both her and grandpa. I felt bad because it sounded like I woke them up. It was nice to talk to them and see how things are back in Edwardsville. I also talked to Kelly for a little while today. She seemed a little homesick and I wanted to talk to her more, but it costs so much to talk to her on the cell phone, and people wanted me to do the hostel thing. She did get her cell phone fixed, but it sounds like the Russian people aren't being very nice to her and the other Americans.  She also said she can help me get my visa, which saves me alot of time. So I will start doing that very soon so I can go see her in Feb. Then she will be here to see me in March, and before we know it we will be back in Bloomington!
I am off to pack and then to bed.  Everybody have a great couple days, and I will upload the pictures from Amsterdam as soon as I can.Â
