After my weekend at Granny's had a fairly quiet week...well not quite, wednesday night was a Western Theme at the students union, so everyone got dressed up and had a few drinks etc etc. Good fun!!!
Highlight of the week was a trip to London from Saturday morning to Monday night (well the early hours of Tuesday morning). Left Stoke on Trent (hooray!) at headed for London where we went to our hostel and waited to check in. Whilst waiting I lost a game of pool and giant connect 4 but I won at fooseball (i know!!!!!) The hostel was pretty nice, only 4 people in the room (but that was coz we booked it too late and therefore had to pay extra!) In the afternoon we met Hayley and Kimmy at the National History Museum which was ok..... well im not much of a fan of museums and wasn't particularly patient but the building was really nice. Went to Harrod's instead of continuing with the museum, which was very cool but easy to get lost in! It also made me realise that I am either gonna need to find me a rich man or get myself a good job!! haha. On the way back to the hostel also went to Kensington Gardens which are nice!

After a quick nap we headed out with one of our roomies called Steve from Canada. Met up with Nathan which was really good and went to a pub called Waxy's (i think). It was so busy but had a wicked atmosphere! When we left it was raining so much, and we left after the tube had stopped running so we had to find a way to get back to the hostel. First we got on the right bus but in the wrong direction, then eventually made it to the right place! We were soaked I swear I woulda been less wet (ok well the same) if i had just gone swimming.

Sunday was another touristy day. We went to Camden markets which were interesting... A few good things but a lot of crap also!! Very good for those of the emo/goth persuasion..!! I think we missed a bit though, but did get offered drugs..(I passed) After that headed to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge which we missed last time. Both were pretty cool. I love all the old buildings in London. Also went to St James's Park which is probably one of the nicest parks I have seen (although it was a bit scary because there were tonnes of geese... but i saw some squirrels!!!) Also re-visited Buckingham Palace (just coz we could!!) and went to see what Big Ben looks like in the dark!

Monday we went to a few random places like Picadilly, Trafalger Square and the Art Gallery, visited St Pauls but didnt go right in because then we went to Lord's cricket ground and did a tour. That was really cool, although it looks bigger on tv!! Got to go in lots of places including the members only part (the long room) and the players rooms (Bev, I know where Brett Lee sits when he is in the Lord's dressing room!!!)
After that walked down Abbey road (of the Beetles fame) and then went back into the centre of London for dinner. After getting our stuff from the hostel went and sat in Hyde park for a while and then got the bus back to Stoke....

Highlights include being able to figure out the right tube stops/stations/platforms without getting heaps confused, finding some things in London without the map, and being asked for directions and being able to give them without looking at the map!!! A London pro!! haha
