Only 15 days to go now and so I thought I'd start our story and get a feel for this blog writing.

Most of it is all booked (flights, Budget Expedition trip, insurance, vaccinations, etc). The only things left to get are Maleria tabelts and to book our campervan for Australia.

Posted by George

I must say, I think that the campervan leg is the part I am most looking forward to. It's going to be intense going where we like, when we like for the whole trip but the 4 weeks we'll have the campervan really epitomises that as it will be our own vehicle and our own sleeping quarters.

The part i'm not looking forward is the taking Maleria tablets. There is so many bits of advice out there, all contradicting itself. Some people don't take them and are fine. Some take them and fall ill. Then if you do decide to take them, there are about 4 different types, all ranging in price and how much they make you ill. I think i'll play it safe and just take them. Good job its about 4 months away until we have to take them. A lot of fun to be had before then.

Throughout the trip, we'll all be posting blogs on here. We also have a Facebook group (Three Men and a Little Lady - The World Tour) and will post pictures on Flickr. So there'll be plenty of ways to stay in touch with what we're doing.

Bring on the 1st of Feb...

Hi George, I just got back from Brazil and can put your mind at rest about the malaria tablets. We took Malerone (which you should definitely be prescribed as no one recommends Larium) and there were no side effects at all. Actually I lie - there was a big impact on my bank account as it cost £80 for 30 over here! You should definitely take them if you are going to Iguassu as it is meant to be a malaria hotspot. I did manage to pick up some lurgee while I was over there though - watch out for the dodgy salad washed in tap water! Nat
