Here are some pictures of life in Florence

Last week we attended this special ceremony at the Piazza Vecchio inside the Great Hall and were welcomed by the mayor to the city and one of our professors, Dr. Carrara, who has taught here on and off since 1977 received a teaching award.

The pictures from the pub are mostly pictures from Public House, its an (American) bar that hangs a Gonzaga University flag outside and offers us really good prices on drinksbetter than any happy hour so thats kinda the meeting place where everyone goes and we have all discovered all these kabab shops all over the cityI know kinda random, right? But they sell really great falafels that are delicious and kind of just a new taste from all the pasta and bread!!!

I am discovering more and more about Florence and more places to shop/eat/and people watch everday!!! We live in the BEST location, just steps away from the leather market and the mercato centrale where they have the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses etc. its great and an especially good place to stock up on fresh food for the weekend trips!!!
