Today was a great day, full of lots of walking.  In some cases it would be easier to catch the subway or a cab between locations, but it is certainly cheaper and more fun to do a lot of walking - we get to see more of the city that way! We love looking at the crazy-tall buildings here.

Today we went to the New York Public Library.  It is very beautiful plus is used in "Ghostbusters" and "The Day After Tomorrow", so we thought it was neat to see these things in person.  The Reading Room for the latter movie is even more beautiful in reality - I can't imagine getting anything done there because I would just be observing the beauty of it all!

We also visited Grand Central Station and the Chrysler Building before we shopped our way up 5th Avenue. We loved the giant FAO Schwarz store, they had a doorman dressed as a nutcracker, a guy playing with toys on the street outside to attract customers, and a giant wooly mammoth stuffed animal for $2000!  We took pics of the giant stuffed animal "zoo".

We decided to walk through Central Park to see the Bethesda Terrace, where the very beginning of the first Amazing Race started.  Unfortunately, we chose the road that does not branch off into the park and so we had to walk all the way across and then loop back to see the terrace and fountain.  It was worth the walk though, it was very magnificent.  We also saw Strawberry Fields, a memorial to John Lennon, and the Dakota Apartments, where he lived and outside of which he was shot.

Our last stop of the day was the American Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space.  This was a really cool place, we especially liked the dinosaur displays, the meteorite area, and all the Apollo photos.  We spent the rest of our day here until closing time, when my feet could take no more!
