Sydney was exactly as I remembered it! In fact, i'd be lying if I said i didn't get a little emotional driving through the city again after two years! This marks my third return to the city famous for its bridge and opera house...lets not forget Finding Nemo too! Our trip began in Los Angeles, where we waited 8 hours at the airport. Cheryl and Josh graced us with their company for a couple of hours, and i purchased overpriced yet not so great sushi as well.  The plane ride was great! Movies on demand with a selection of over 60 movies! If you know Rach and I...we love movies! I tried to stay awake, but fell asleep half way through Pirates of the Caribbean. Sorry Mari, not even Johnny Depp could keep me awake. Nine hours later I awoke. Five hours afterwards we landed. Good news, no lost wheels this time! Thats a plus in my book. Sheer adrenaline kept us alert during the day. I was so excited to see Stef (my roomate from when I studied in Australia)! We celebrated New Years at Milk Beach, where we had a spectacular view of the fireworks show. Imagine the Sydney bridge blasting fireworks like crazy. The Aussies really know how to have heaps of fun! It was definitely one of the most memorable new years celebrations ever! Although I was able to share it with Stef, a part of me still wished i was also able to welcome the new year with everyone i love. A'las i am with you in spirit. T minus 1.5 hours til 2007 for you folks! Well jet lag did catch up to me around 10:30 pm. This is when i started to do the head jerk coupled with incoherent sentences. Quite funny if you ask Stef and me. Well i'll share more about our city explorations later, but for now i must sleep because thats what you do when your jetlagged. Maybe i'll beat it next time i come to Australia! For now our friend Beverly has been wonderfully hospitable and I am pleased to write this from the comforts of her home! Worry not all is well!

This is a quick addition to how my time in Sydney is progressing. We leave for Brisbane in the morning. We spent the last couple of days just enjoying the city. We went to Bondi beach that was full of go lucky surfers and ready to bake tourists! I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to Sydney because we just took time to take it in. We stopped and watched street performers and even a wedding in the Botanic Gardens! So beautiful. Unfortunately we had a little rain, but fortunately it didn't deter us from taking in the sites. We even ran into a celebrity from Austrailia's Big Brother. Bev was excited...he was cute...and so was his boyfriend. (Seems to always go that way huh ladies?) Anyways, Sydney is still one of my most favorite cities i have ever visited....next to Prague. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates a clean city, lots of activities, and a down right friendly atmosphere!
