Christmas in Cintsa
From The Big One in Cintsa, South Africa on Dec 23 '06
What a place for Christmas. Cinsta is a lovely unspoilt coastal area with very little here . Its a place people come in few numbers due to its isolation ,and the backpackers " Buccaneers" is the most prominent feature here.
I met up with Steve here from Cape Town and enjoyed a very different Xmas eve.In keeping with most of Europe, xmas eve was the big day; so thats when we had Xmas dinner!
" It's Chriiistmas!"
We had cocktails and appetisers on the balcony over looking the bay, then sat down to a full dinner complete with crackers and a range of puddings.Very odd to hear that most festive of records, Slades' Merry Xmas' on a warm and balmy night. " It's Chriiiistmas!"The next morning breakfast was served by the pool. Bucksfizz, rolls and fruit.Very nice. After a stroll on the beach I spent most of the day with Steve and other lads in and out the pool, being silly. it got much sillier when they started getting naked...
Quite a memorable Xmas Day.
I took a safari at a small private park. Hardly Kruger but I guess its makes finding the animals easier.
Theres so much wildlife out the parks too. I've been sitting on the balcony watching the Swifts feeding their young in the rafters, wasps trying to build a nest and a gecko that doesn't know the night shift is over.
After a few days doing very little its off up the coast to Coffee Bay
