No bathing in Bath
From Our worldy experience in Bath, United Kingdom on Sep 05 '06
The next stop on our trip was Bristol, on Englands south coast. It was a very pleasant town, almost city. Lots of students and young businesstype folk. Seemed to be a lot going on. Visited the docks area, reminded us a bit of Williamstown. The sun was out, which probably tinted our glasses a bit!
Found out later that Bristol has a massively high crime rate, and is the place of many a Yardee (Jamaican Gangster) war!
It's hysterical, not historical!
We spent the arvo in Bristol, before ehading to the beautiful old city of Bath, a little further inland. Bath was a very old town with lots of history, amazing buildings and architecture. We had an early dinner and decided to join the famous Bizarre Bath comedy walk ("It's hysterical, not historical!") Was something a bit different and we thought it'd be a good way to the city. It was highly recommended to us, and apparently had years of experience. Unfortunately, the jokes were very tired, mostly taking the piss out of peoples nationalities. At one stage, a young bloke walked past the tour group and shouted "You're never f@*king funny!". Probably the best thing we heard that night...
Stayed in the YMCA that night, and we all managed to restrain ourselves from doing Village People impersonations.
