We decided to go for another day trip out to a popular area of Denmark. The main attraction here is the Kronburg castle - made famous as the scene for Hamlet.
We quickly made our way to the castle and were able to get our first real view of Sweden just across the stretch of water. The castles main function was as a tax collector of all the ships that made their way down to Copenhagen but was originally made as a residency for Danish royalty. We went on a tour of the castle and we got an idea of the extravigance of the high born people. The castle had many lavish rooms but the most impressive would have to be the ballroom which apparently is the largest in Europe.

We also were able to go on a fun tour in the prisons, soldiers quarters and the resting place of 'Olgier the Dane' - a giant. Apparently he is supposed to wake up to protect Denmark in times of need. As the tour leader said - Denmark has been in many terrible wars but still he does not wake. Part of the Danish resistence group during world war 2 was named after him which we thought was pretty good.
Later that day Meagan got some new disco shoes and David ate some Danish hot dogs which seem to very popular over here even though they taste average.
