Got to Rio Dulce on the 13th after a long trip - had to be up by 3.20 am to catch the bus. The resort I stayed at was only accessible by boat, so the trip was made longer as I had to wait 7 hours on the mainland until the boat departed. The place was called Denny's Beach Resort. It was nice and relaxing but I wouldn't have stayed there for more then two days as it got boring. I wanted something more active, as all I had done in Antigua was relax. A typical beach chill out place. The night I got there, I just relaxed and acquainted myself with the other backpackers in my dorm. The next day, we went kayaking into the lake in the morning, and then hiking in the nearby jungle in the afternoon. I also read alot and relaxed on the hammocks by the beach. By this time I had done everything available to do (according to my budget - there were extortionately priced trips and horseback riding that I opted out of) As a result, it was time for my next stop!!!!
