A Tad Overrated

Barcelona was a bit surpsising.  We ahd heard amazing things as everyoen else has about the city but we found it to be nothing special.  This could very well be the hostel that we were staying in since it was a bit of a dump and the staff were absolute morons.  We did however manage one night to go swimming in the Med and then just chill on the beach, but the sand was not really that nice, we later found out that there are good beaches and bad ones and the farther north.

We managed to go see a fair amount in the time we were in the city though.  One of my favorite things we saw was Sangrada Familia, a cathedral in the works and designed by Gaudi, a archetect in from the 19th century that did some really out there architecture, a lot of curves and fewer corners.  The thing is just over 100 years old and is about 50% done, maybe just over.  There are pictures of it in the Picture section.  Shawn and Dan were not so into the different style of architecture which I can see how they can say that.

We aslo went to some amazing hidden away cathedrals in the town centre and those were very cool to see and stumble upon.  After more sights we went to visit the FC Barcelona Stadium.  A 120,000 person stadium is incredible by any means but to see it first hand was really cool, and Dan had a ball ofcourse.  We tookthe tour around and were able to go everywhere in the Stadium, even in the personally blessed by the Pope catherdal the players have near their changing rooms.

Over all it was a fairly nice city, a lot of walking around and checking  out the city that way.  Then we were off to Valencia, but the beach party turned out to be around $250.00 euros and soldout, so we have found loads more to do.
