Ahh the warmth and the laid back life .... its a tough life here in Miami beach, the decisions I have to make are so demanding, like:

Do I head to the beach and read this morning, or this afternoon?

Which restaurant should I eat in next?

Which pair of Flip Flops should I buy?

But I am sure you are all thankful that I shoulder these responsibilities myself and don't let it get to me ;-).

Life here is certainly good in January, not heaving with tourists and really pleasant weather, today its 26 degrees and a light breeze (78 F for my American friends) and the pace here is relaxed and friendly.

Obviously there are a high proportion of tourists, and like me those new to the area stand out by the whiteness of our skin as opposed to the long termers here that are nicely tanned from spending the winter here.

The biggest problem I had was that I had mostly packed for winter, since I was planning on visiting the colder states and buying summer items when I hit NZ, so I arrived here and then thought *doh* wrong clothes...

Ahh well, a few small purchases and I was all set to enjoy the slow pace of life, in fact, enjoyed it so much that I am staying here an extra day.

The area I am staying in is pretty much central to all the things you could want in this area, art galleries, restaurants, pubs & clubs etc and of course, just 2 blocks (5 minutes) walk from the beach for those lazy moments.

Unfortunately though, the sea was off limits yesterday well, the coast guard (what ever you would call it here in the US) was trying to keep people out of the water, and was flying two flags, Red for dangerous currents (high likelyhood of rip tides) and Purple for dangerous marine life which I assume was possibly sharks?

Not that I felt like going for a swim (the water was just a tad cold) but it did feel great just to walk along the shoreline through the breaking surf and sink your feet into the wet sand... well I am a big kid at heart :-)

I am certainly not making the most of Miami area and all the treasures it has to offer I am sure, but its good to just kick back and just do nothing much, above relax and enjoy the pace of life and friendliness of the people here...

Lunchtime is over now, time to head on back out into the sun, as I said, it's such a tough life....

Nice weather then. Yeah, hard life isn't it. :D... we've been up to our arms in gardening and bookings for our homestay. Should be relaxed from now on for us too. Mum and Dad arrive tomorrow! Woooohoooooooo!!!!! Take Care. Enjoy the sun.

Heh, glad you're enjoying yourself down here. I live about thirty minutes to the north in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Have fun on the beaches!
