J'aime le bouf

We arrived in Paris late afternoon on Sunday and wandered about Montmatre for about an hour trying to find our hostel. I have never walked up and down so many steps especially with such a heavy bag on, I'm going to be looking like Miss Universe at the end of this trip. Anyway, our hostel was lovely and very clean. It was very close to Le Sacre Cour, which overlooks the whole of Paris (apart from the Eiffel Tower which is disappointing, I think a tree or two needs to be cut down). We took a walk up and watched the sunset and then went and ate crepes.

The next day, after approximately 13 hours of sleep, we decided to cram in as much of Paris as we possibly could. We walked to L'arc de Triumph, the Eiffel Tower (which really is spectacular) and on to Notre Dame and the Louvre. We also tried to go to Le Musee d'orsay but unfortunately it was shut (I've never really been a fan of museums of horses anyway so I wasn't too bothered). The weather was great, we were walking around in T shirts - although everyone else was wrapped up in coats and scarves. In the evening we went to a 'french' restaurant and Finn had steak and chips. I tried the steak and cannot believe I have deprived myself of something that tastes so good for so long. J'aime le buof.
