Mediaeval Banquet!

Today was the big day. Every student at Wroxton always talks about the Mediaeval Banquet and always comes away with some amazing pictures. This morning around 12pm we were all to go and pick up our costumes. Three by three we were sent into the room to try on and pick out the costume of our choosing. Most of the costumes were gone by the time it was my turn but I managed to find a pretty long blue velvet dress with huge sleeves but it seemed to fit well (or so I thought).

After finishing classes for the day everyone ran to get ready. After finally getting into my dress I realized that it was so loose around my waist and shoulders and since there was so much fabric coming from the sleeves it kept falling off of my shoulders. Luckily Erin saved the day and pinned me all up so everything fit as best it could (but those sleeves definitely weighed at least 10 pounds a piece). Its always been my dream to dress like a pretty pretty princess!!

We all gathered in the Buttery at 7:30 and were served wine while we waiting for everyone to arrive in their costumes. At 8 we were sent into the dining room accompanied by 3 mediaeval musicians who would sing, dance, and play music for us throughout our meal. We had to eat all of the food without utensils (apparently thats how they did it back then). Afterwards we all head back to the bar for a kick ass afterparty where we got to continue showing off our costumes and dance and drink the night away!

It was definitely one of my best nights since I've been here and I know that everyone would definitely agree with me!!!
