On Sunday, we went to the Royal BC Museum. It was nice, but mostly natural history and stuffed dead animals are not really my favorite.
For dinner, we planned to go to the well-known Tapa Bar restaurant, in part because we love tapas. I looked on the Internet a bit Sunday afternoon and found a little bar and restaurant nearby called The Superior that was supposed to have live music. We decided to go there and have a glass of wine and maybe an appetizer before going to the Tapa Bar. When we got there, the dining room was very warm and inviting and the staff was welcoming. They were happy to have us sit and have wine while we listened to music.
Fig and goat cheese flat bread (I recreated this dish when we got home.)
After we looked at the menu and saw a intriguing assorment of "small plates," it didn't take us long to ditch our tapas plans and spend the evening at The Superior. Over the course of the evening, we had a cheese plate, tuna tataki, a fig and goat cheese flat bread (what I would call a pizza, gorgonzola stuffed gnocchi, and a good bottle of red wine. It was a lovely experience.
