We arrived in Keflavik airport and transferred to the bus to take us to our hotel in Reykjavik. We were so excited we had such high expectations for our trip.

We got to our hotel nothing fancy but it was clean and warm. Ivan forgot to bring a hat with him and because it was about -5 outside we decided to go for a walk and buy one for him. That was our first experience of the cost of living in Iceland, talk about extortionate. In one shop they were charging €50 for a wooly hat...

We decided that we would head to the shopping centre but got a bit lost on the way so we decided that we would jump into a taxi, big mistake we were in the taxi for about 2min and he charged us €25, shock is the only thing I can say. We eventually found a Next and two hats for a more reasonable price of €10.

We headed back to the hotel (this time walking) for some dinner, warmth and some sleep because we had to be up early in the morning for our jeep safari...
