Got here on Tues 25th Oct from San Salvador. Travelled with a girl from my hostel in San Salvador. Spent the day walking around town, visitng the sites, market, and finally the shopping mall. For the second largest city in El Salvador it really isnt that big. I had seen all within 4 hours of starting! It is a beautiful city though.

At night we relaxed in the hostel (which really is a beautiful house with nice rooms) with the owner who treated me to dinner and a night of drinking......all for free!!!! How much better can it get??? Wed 26th - Visited the owners coffee plantation and then went to see the Tazumal ruins in a nearby village. they were beautiful but nowhere near as good as Tikal. Thu 27th - Visited Lago de Coatepeque.....a beautiful clean lake surrounded by volcanoes. Really breathtaking!! Fri 28th - Visited the town of Metapan......had a drink in what was probably the friendliest bar/restaurant I have ever been to. Ended up putting my palm print on the bar wall.....which is suppoed to be for esteemed customers only!!Went out to apopular local bar/club in Santa Ana with the hostel owner (Javier) and his friend. Had an amazing time drinking, dancing and meeting new people. Salvadorans have to be the friendliest people on the planet!!!! Sat 29th - Woke up late as last night ended after 4am. Went to the local mall, bought my postcard souvenir and then went and watched 'The wedding crashers' at the cinema. Sun 30th - Up early and out of Santa Ana by 8am .......on my way to Honduras

“Worth making a trip here!! The friendliest people!!!”
