The January thaw was not only welcome this year, it was clearly recognizable. After weeks of snowfall and bone chilling temperatures this was a thaw indeed.

There is one place in Concord that beckons people to dream of the Spring months ahead and that is the storefront of Main Streets Market and Cafe. This is a building located at the hub of Concord Center. Situated at the corner of Walden and Main it is a fascinating people watching spot during the Spring and Summer months. Its storefront typifies in so many ways the best of Concord’s Main Street. It is warm, inviting, historically rich in architectural details and is the window on some fascinating page out of Concord’s past.

In the 1700s this building served as the Town of Concord’s Grist Mill and was used to store ammunition during the American Revolution. And while its role in Concord is no longer critical to the building of a town or nation it is still a place that is intricately woven into the fabric of this community for locals and travelers alike.
