WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It worked all that bitching and moaning and hissy fitting and tantying and all your good weather thoughts and wishes WORKED!!!!! The snowgods were happy with our fire efforts last night and donated a great day to us.
we flew the coop and chewed up some great powder
I woke up to a fantastic scene of the moon setting over the distant mountains from my bedroom window and it worked out quite OK. There was plenty of clear sky but Kevin was calling it as only a maybe. They went out with 2 birthday people for a weather reconnaissance flight and came back with a test of 3 groups out in a helicopter each. My group would be second out and it was not hopeful at this stage. Particularly when Charlotte pointed out that our guide Tom was building a sauna when we were all kitted out ready to go. This didn't raise our confidence levels at all.

After about an hour the heli's started to come back and we were all fired up ready to have one of the best days of our lives. We got a ride out to the zone and were set down on a river bank at the base as we needed to do a weather watch. The first 3 groups were already out in the zone but they said they could not see well and it was snowing. To our east the mountains and runs were clear and looked good so we watched those for around 30 or so minutes before we got the all clear and piled back in the magic carpet for a bump to the top.

We went to Osprey and Lab Rat, then went over to Sprinkles (aptly named after a local stripper) and got a total of 5 runs in. The first 2 runs for me were a hard - the runs were sweet but i think i boarded the worst i have ever boarded in my life. I really kind of sucked out there. But during my third run i began to get my groove back and grooved i did. The last 2 runs were super sweet and i actually relaxed i think for the first time in 3 seasons. I never felt that relaxed on a run out here ever and it made a huge difference to my abilities.

I still ate snow here and there but i did good - i am sure you are all pleased to hear i was a very happy chappy.
I got some great footage of the heli ride and some of our runs - i even gave over my camera to one of our group members - i don't know how it will turn out because he thinks he didn't get it quite right but we shall see. It doesn't matter i had a totally awesome day and words cannot describe it adequately.
