San Francisco

After an 11 hour flight (which i managed to sleep most of the way) we

arrived at our hostel in San Francisco. I hadnt quite grasped sleeping

in a bunk bed and managed to bang my head twice sitting up nearly

knocking myself out. While we were there we went to an Aquarium, a boat

trip under the Golden gate bridge, to Pier 39 to see the Sealions

(which I nearly vomited bcos they smell SO bad!) After this as we were

walking back to catch one of the street cable cars (which are boss)

Adam got stopped by this fella in the street who started to shine his

shoes and then tried to charge him $20 for it. He managed to pay him

$10! we came across this really cool bar which had a live band in who

started singing "Ferry across the Mersey" for us!

The

following day we decided it be a good idea to hire a bike!!!

Considering I have not ridden one for over 10 years I didn't think it

was a very bright idea to go on bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge

but I did it and it ended up turning into a 17 mile ride!!!! My arse

was in agony the following few days! It didnt go that smoothly tho as

we ended up getting lost looking for these trees, gave it up as it was

going dark and ended up cycling over a freeway which was the equivalent

to riding down the hard shoulder of the M6! Adam nearly took a turn off

onto the motorway but realised just in time. After getting back to the

ferry terminal in one piece decided to have a glass of wine waiting for

the ferry but it went to my head and I was slightly wobbly on the bike

on the other side riding the bike back to the hire shop. Funny day!

The

following day we got a bus to visit the California Academy of Sciences.

On the way back we ended up on this bus full of complete weirdos it was

like a scene out of a film. He wouldnt pay his fare and started

shouting at the bus driven "Just drive the damn bus mother fucker!".

That evening we went on the night tour to Alcatraz. It was so good!!

Walking round with an audio tour guide but the best bit was looking

over to San Francisco of a night it was amazing. Our final day we spent

at Berkeley University walking round the campus and getting drunk in

the student union. Next off to Fiji!!
