Hi guys,

We made it to Puerto Escondido!! Yaye!!

bloody brilliant!

We left Oaxaca at midday yesterday in a mini van with about 10 other people in it.   What an experience that was! the trip was about 7 hours long and the roads were like the 309 road! And the driver was an absolute nutter!  A common theme here! He was passing on blind corners and while taking hairpin corners at 80km/h he was drinking a bottle of water and changing the CD!  Needless to say we didn't get any sleep as we were white knuckled the whole time.

So thankfully we got here in one piece. Caught a taxi to the beach and found a place which we are staying in now which as 3 double beds, a fridge and its own bathroom for only 400 pesos a night, so like $10US a night each... bloody brilliant!

It is so hot here, its probably about 35 degrees and about 95% humidity! And the waves here are amasive! Good for Billy as he is a surfer. Apparently at least once a week the waves get up to about 40 feet! Crazy.

Tomorrow night we are going to stay at a different place down the road which has a pool so that will be nice.

We will stay here for a couple of days and then push onto San Cristobal.

Hope everyoneback in NZ is having a nice winter!! haha

Cheers

Shaun and Sarah

I am jealous. I want to go surfing in massive waves when its 35 degrees. Mind you, i'm glad I wasn't in that van, I might have soiled myself.

Hi you two. Hope you are both well and still enjoying yourselves. There seems to be lots to do and look at. We are all enjoying reading about your trip, especially Nana Gedye.
