D and I decided that we would drive through Switzerland on our way from Milan to Paris.  There were good highways in Switzerland and we knew the view would be spectacular. Little did we know that we would end up seeing much more than we expected. We ended up driving through the alps before going through Bern and Lausanne into Geneva.  Although we practically drove through the entire country before getting to Geneva we both believe it was well worth the time and frustration.  The Alps were amazing and we hope to return again one day and stay in the fairly large beautiful hotel that we passed along the way atop the alps.  We were able to take about fifty photos of the alps from various angles and of the ice and clear spring water that we stopped to touch and feel.  It was amazing standing beside a huge chunk of ice and yet it being 25 degrees celsius outside.  Geneva itself was interesting to see, it is the hub for the UN and UNHCR as well as the Red Cross.  Lake Geneva is spectacular with stands lining the entire lake with ice cream and desserts as well as souvenier stands.  It is very fun to just sit there and people watch and enjoy the spectacular view.

The Alps were amazing
