Hokkaido is a city which feels more like an English town rather than Japanese as it has many English cottages instead of Japanese houses. The weather in June is just nice, and the lavender bloom is just starting. Lavender flavoured ice-cream was everywhere and almost every day we ate ice-cream!

We tasted "Sapporo Beer" and went to Shiroi Koibito Park by Ishiya, a local chocolate company. Of course you would have to buy Shiroi Koibito cookies. They are two thin butter cookies with white chocolate in between and really nice! They showed the factory line of making the biscuits.

I love those long Taraba crabs! Yummy!

You must visit Noboribetsu hot spring area. We went to the hot spring in our hotel at night when there were few people around. Do not be shy when you were there... After that we felt so hot that we went out of the hotel for a cooling down. There are many sourvenirs shops there selling kawaii stuff! We really loved patronising the shops there and I bought a monk (六祖慧能)hand made using the mud from the hot springs. It cost S$200 after discount but it was my favourite sourvenir so far!

Mount Hakodate is another nice place to go. My friend was upset that we need to get down the cable car before the sky darkened and hence we missed the really nice night view.

The seafood in Hokkaido was simply delicious! The Taraba crab was so sweet and probably one of the best food I had ever tasted! It is a must try! Besides this, almost every meal provided by our agency was a complete set of sashimi, taraba crab (small), soup, noodles, rice, pickles, etc. So much food was served and so many different dishes was used. We were really impressed and did not know which one to start with. What an experience!

The Japanese really love cute stuff! Along the way there were so many sourvenirs selling Hello Kitty (purplish) and other cute stuff. Those Japanese school girls who entered the shops went "kawaii neh". I kept saying "cute" until my friend was quite sick of hearing it. Ok so 可爱!
