Hello all, Pisa is so much more than the leaning tower! The whole plaza is mind boggling, from the tower itself, the baptistery, the cathedral and cemetery. Rick Steve’s book is majorly wrong when it comes to the Pisa spots. The cathedral was spectacular. There was so much artwork and wonderful architecture…love all those arches! (there’s even golden arches there too…but not the same as the US ones) After Pisa we ventured to the Mediterranean. Janice got a first foot feel of the water! And then Ron and Rich soon followed. The unbelievable part of our visit there was the break water boulders were all marble! Italian marble everywhere! Too bad we can’t pack it in our suitcases!

We then ventured to Lucca. A unique walled fortress city that is a virtual maze inside. It is 2.5 miles around the walls, with a great walking/biking trail on top. We had a nice dinner there, and we nearly didn’t find our way out of the fortress that night.
