No email yesterday 12th March But today we are resting in sunny Tenterfield along with the autumn leaves and beautiful fresh air. Arrived yesterday and set the van up then took a walk around town looking at the buildings and the trees. Some of the buildings date way back to the early settlers and for those who know the brickwork is in the Flemish style. There forever and looks good. Had a look at Peter Allens grandfathers shop and for those who can remember Peter Allen wrote the song Tenterfield Saddler. His grandfather was a saddler. The trees are all loosing their leaves and everywhere you go there are orange and yellow leaves blowing accross the ground. Also yesterday we drove up to Mt McKenzie lookout. 1200 meters up and a beautiful view of the town and the Tenterfield valley. Today is a resting day. Although Helen has done all the laundry and all I've done it sit here typing up a letter to mother and getting the emails ready to send. The van park was empty except for one camper and just a few minutes ago 4 vans arrived. All Queenslanders. No gate at the border and we still have a few bits of Qld veges and fruit. Helen thinks that the gate in between Victoria and its other states, we'll see when we get there. On the side of our van site are a row of trees, two are crab apples, one lot are red and the others are yellow but not ripe yet. Helen tasted a yellow one and it was very bitter. I haven't spotted any koalas in our bush walks, but people in the district say they have been spotted. NSW has daylight saving and as we came accross the border we didn't notice any difference. It is madness really not having it universal. But when we got to the information place we noticed the clock was fast. I'm finding wireless mobile unreliable and have already placed a report into telstra. I had a drama one evening and lost the link half way through my little session. And althogh my modem was unplugged it still clocked up 2 and a half hours!
