We woke early very excited for the days events this was the main reason in coming to Norway. We hiked through the rain to the train station (we just made it in time before it bucketed down) to catch the train to start our tour.
The train from Bergen to Voss was full of amazing scenery. It first captured our attention when we came out of one of the many tunnels to be greeted with snow falling and settling on dramatic mountains and stunning lakes.
The next mode of transport was a bus and the views were no less impressive. The temperature gauge in the bus told us that it was 1 degree outside and we could definitely feel it (The snow was getting thicker now). The bus took us to a really beautiful viewing point of some of the most spectacular mountains we have ever seen. This was just a taste of what we were going to experience next.

We were dropped off at a small town and hopped onto a boat. This boat was going to take us through one of the most dramatic and beautiful fjords in all of norway (it is another world heritage site - voted the number 1 heritage site in the world). It is really hard to begin to explain how amazing this landscape is. On either side of us we had incredibly high snow capped mountians plunging into crystal clear water. Then as we wove our way through the fjord we witnessed mountain high waterfalls cascading down and a pod of dolphins playing around the boat. It was bloody cold though.

Our next destination was a town called Flam. Our tour was stopped here for 3 hours (a little but too long which slowed down the day a little too much). We were able to go on a short hike and watch the starfish in the harbour. Because it was a Sunday everything was shut and we had to have some overpriced soup for tea.
We then got onto a train which took us from the bottom of the fjord to the top of the mountains. The train sped through tunnels carved into the side of mountains and as we got higher the snow became thicker and thicker. We stopped off at one point to get out and look at a magnificent waterfall and throw snowballs at each other (it wasn't really at each other, David just threw one at Meagans butt as she stepped back onto the train making a Chinese tourist shake his head at David and say 'Oh no, you in trouble!'). We got to the station and played in the falling snow - it was bloody cold.

The last part of our journey was on the passenger train back to Oslo. It was still magical outside but this was definitely the lowlight of the trip. We couldnt sit together and somehow we were seated in the family section so there were kids everywhere playing extremely loud games. Apart from this minor hiccup we had the most amazing day.
