Real Time Update:  Oh my lord it is hot in New Jersey.  Yesterday (Monday, June 9) was 99 degrees and more of the same today and tomorrow.  And...get this...the A/C doesn't work at our house.  It's a townhome and let me tell you the upstairs is boiling by the afternoon.  We bought two big fans but all they do is move around the hot air.  Our landlord put us up in a hotel yesterday, which was really sweet of them.  The repairman will be here this afternoon; fingers crossed he can get it fixed today.  I'm sitting in the loft with the fan blasting on me and sweat pouring down my neck as I type this entry.  Oh the sacrifices we make for the blog.  :-)  I am headed down to the basement to cool off just as soon as I finish.

OK back to the blog:  After the long drive across California and Nevada, it was a quick 4 hour hop from Elko to Salt Lake.  My brother Ross has a great big house there, and we let the cat roam free.  Jeannie came down from Circle and the three of us got to hang out for the first time in ages (the wedding doesn't count...not much "hanging out" was done there, more like "frantically racing from one place to the next.")  Ross and Jeanette drove us up into the mountains, to a ski lodge that hosted the Olympics in 2002, and down into the valleys, where my oh my it is green.  We barbecued and watched movies and even played some pinochle (yes I'm sure you're all shocked).  Here are the pix from our SLC sojourn.
