was so tired after my crazy time in mykonos i just relaxed on this island i walked around and saw the famous gateway for apollo which is the landmark of the island its the biggest island in the cyclades. if i had energy i would have travelled around there more  i just wanted to be alone i went and climbed mt zeus the highest mountain there that no one climbs in summer except me, lol i got scratched up the paths were so great or easy to follow

i waited in the heat in the middle of nowhere for a bus that didnt come, i caught a lift with a butcher Abyss who took me to the closest town that the bus went through so i could return to the town, gave me his number and said to meet for drinks. i dont think so.

went for a swim alone at this family beach the water wasnt so deep but it was nice to do some exercise lots of people around

chilled back in my hotel room put on a face mask watched the football game on tv from my balcony and enjoyed such a beautiful sunset. amazing peachy colours.

i really didnt want to party there was the son of the guy who owned the place this guy marco worked there in his family business instead that night i walked around with him and ate we sat back at the hotel and we talked about greek guys and girls and the lack of connection i see them share, he spoke openly about how he had no desire to marry in his mind it was simply throwing his money away to a nagging wife and children that he could otherwise spend and live it up with, hed never seen or grasped the concept of a deeper relationship as i see is the case with many Greeks. Girlfriends are handbags accessories. They are there to look pretty. with teh summers here and the islands ful of gorgeous free loving girls when they handbag starts to nagg or thers a different style or fashion they see they go for it why stickto one thing when thats all it means to them.

I spoke with marco for a while he was tired of all the business, summer is a busy time they make all the money to last the winter. He gave me free chocolate and a traditional knitted bag from the island and told me that to him i was strange cos girls there dont think like me he also said all the girls look like paris hilton and its boring. he said i was strange cos i had my own style wore what others might well but made it my own, that was nice to hear seeing id been wearing the same clothes for  months now and had to find ways to mix it up. by that stage he wasnt coming onto me because it was clear from our discussions that i wasnt like that he was just happy to sit and hear my thoughts and opinions. Even though friends kept riding passed telling him to hurry up and join them out.

Later i went to sleep and he went out with friends to do the usual and pick up girls. thats what these local boys do all summer. winter for them is boring on the islands ghost town. some go to Athens to study others hang around waiting for summer, thats their life story. it was sad and interesting to see it from that perspective outside of being a tourist the islands really were only for summer i cant picture it empty and dead but that was the world they lived, reminding me of life in Coober Pedy were tourists would pass by and we were left with the same boring places people and outings.

Naxos was very beautiful and green i just didnt have the energy to look around i did however find energy to shop
