An early morning start as we left a vibrant Phnom Penh heading east to the border . One final crossing of the Mekong by ferry and we were soon at the Cambodia/ Vietnam frontier. The roads immediately changed from rural dusty tracks to busy dual carriageways as the mainly urban corridor stretched towards Ho Chi Minh City.

We spent a lively weekend  exploring the city by foot and cyclo, discovering some fine buildings from the colonial era. Liam and Karen introduced us to a variety of eateries  in between organising our travel plans for Vietnam.
