Today Tony and Bernie took us for a day out around Dublin, showing us the sights. We had a great day! Went shopping in some big mall place, where there were beautiful christmas decorations but crappy christmas music! Its tooooo early for that.... :S

We also went shopping out on the street (Grafton Street, I think thats what its called!), as you'll see in the first picture. Walked down to Trinity College - Dublins version of Melbourne Uni and went in to see the "book of Kells". We didn't actually get to see it in the end because they were doing some maintenance or something like that on it today. There was still the museum part to look at, and the "Long Room" - the original library, complete with all the old books and ladders and everything. Biggest room I have ever seen that isnt a church cathedral! The oldest book they had on display was from 1400-and-something. Amazing!

Was a really enjoyable day and was good to see a bit of dublin. We'll be back in there in a couple of weeks to see Pete Murray so it will be interesting to see if we can actually find the place he's performing at... :)

Nice to see you're getting around. Hope you had a good weekend in Clifden. You really did hit bad weather, stormy here today in Donegal. Nice to hear from Jay on this blog. Hope Maura had a good trip back but it was great to see everyone at Tony's. We must do this kind of reunion every few years. Looking forward to seeing you in Donegal.
