Sometimes I turn up at hostels and just chuckle to myself, because they really are just incredible. I stayed at the YHA at this punakaiki place for next to nowt and it was just briliant. The huts wre like ski chalets but hidden away in the rainforest. Five minutes down the track was the best beach I've ever been to and up the road was the pancake rocks/blowholes and a cavern you couldjust wander into. I found that my torch was woefully inadequate and got a sore head for my trouble. That's the last time I follow Austrians anywhere. Either way, definately worth a look shold you find yourself down this neck of the woods.
