day 5: switching coasts

this was a pretty uneventful day of travel for us but enjoyable nevertheless because we were together.  i made sure to get a bit of yoga in on our perfect deck over the sea and we both had one more splash in the bay before running off to catch the boat at 10am to the mainland.  the boat down to surat thani stops back on koh phangan and koh samui so it took us all day and arrived about 4:30 to the mainland.  we had funny rides on the boat with the first leg being pretty bouncy and people getting sick all around us and the second leg they played movies with no sound and very screwily translated subtitles.  we were rather amused.  we waited for the bus to take us to krabi and passed the time by playing rummy and having a beer under a canopy of vines.  we had the vip bus to krabi with more movies to watch (after the driver was done watching thai tv, yep while he was driving!).  this time we had sound which was nice but the movie was not that great, crank, if anyone has seen it.  we arrived into krabi about 8 pm and grabbed a guesthouse by the pier since we planned to go island hopping the next day.  we were in luck too- there was a night market right down the street with delicious cheap eats for dinner.
