Santorini was a bit of a mystery to begin with! Was this really THE DESTINATION with its very own airport? It looked like a back block rock..... but then you get to the other side of the island and look out over the edge of an ancient caldera with stunning ocean views and amazing white villas nested on the cliffs. Jaw dropping stuff. we stayed in a wee cheap place recommended by our very own dodgy island taxi driver... his name? You guessed it Nik! We managed to find a cable car that dropped (quite literally) down by the old port with a small swarm of AMERRRRICARNS off a cruise ship! YAY for us and the locals. We met some donkies and healthy cats, as well as some extraordinary prices! Even more expensive than in London, who would have thought?

We spent our evening at the Sunset bar hanging over the cliff on a veranda sipping Barcadi Breezers, and Corona beers enjoying the best sunset you could ever imagine. A very magical travelling experience.
