I had a day in London so I ventured over to Old Bailey to see a court case in action.  It's one of London's oldest criminal courts and I watched a murder trial--it bothered me surprisingly much to hear testimony about dead bodies.  The lawyers and judges still wear wigs...the ladies looked ridiculous.  Then I walked over the Thames to the Tate Modern.  If you like modern art you must go--it is a huge renovated factory and the galleries are superb--I especially enjoyed their Rothkos and their Pollacks.  Then it was over to the Donmar Warehouse Theatre--I had waited three hours that morning for tickets to Harold Pinter's play Betrayal--but it was worth it.  My friend Chiara had recommended it--she is on her way to fame as an actress herself so I trusted her--and it was spot on--acting, lighting, set, and so forth.  It's the story of an affair told in reverse--from its end to its first beginnings.  Unless you get to London by this weekend it will have closed--but if it moves...see it!!  It was a neat set up--everyone sits on benches and the likes of Jude Law come to see shows.  Then it was a Cottage Pie and Young's Ale (typical warm british ale--bitter and good only if you're looking for an experience) and then off to the airport again to catch a flight to Tel Aviv.  I love London--what a great mix of modern and historical--plus the English language!--but beware, it's now $2 to the pound so it's really damn expensive.

murder, art, affairs--always something new to do in this city
