Leaving the hustle and bustle of the city (Istanbul)and the Red Bull air race behind we made the jounery towards Canakkale .
Turkish service stations are amazing compared to our Little Chefs and Welcome Breaks .Although you may have to pay for the toliets the cost seemed justified and they are clean and there are not long ques fuelled by numerous oap coach tours. It made me have a little chuckle to myself whilst sitting on the toilet there were instuctions on the wall re. how to use the bathroom. The entertainment was free in the form of Nazir ,a wanna be singer . He must be totally deluded to think that one they he might make it in to a big star , he was dreadful .He initially bought out all these photo albums of himself leading you into a false comfort zone that he might be good . You let him sing and he gets louder and louder till he is unbearable . I guess working in a service station he will have a fresh group of victims to inflict his lack of talent on every few hours .

Gallipoli is a moving place with hundreds of grave stones where soilders lost their lives during the war .Its a major place of intereset in particular for Australians and the Kiwis who make a stong point in remembering those that lost their lives .Thousands flock there for the annual Anzac Day memorial services.
Leaving Gallipoli behind we caught the ferry to Canakkale . A short, flat crossing but with enough time to try Turkish tea. Drunk black in small glasses sugar in my opinion is highly recommended however my opinion could be slightly biased .When i was a child i had a sporting accident and was forced to drink black tea with lots of sugar to help get over the shock.Tea now just brings back those memories of the pain i felt during that incident .

Checking into the hotel we were given only 40minutes till we were to meet for dinner. 40minutes for 3 girls to shower is really pushing it . A helping hand came from the fact that the showers weren't to posh you really didn't want to spend longer in them then you really had to.There was, a beautiful selction of mould growing on the ceiling and coolish water squirting out at all angles . However the view from the room made up for everything , overlooking the habour you could watch the ferrys go back and forth .We made it out to dinner on time , waiting in the hotel lobby these large leather vibrating chairs were quiet eye catching. However watching an old man on one of the chairs really looked quiet seedy.

Dinner was turkish pizza which was finished with more cake then you could possibly manage .The cats were lucky that night they got fed plenty of our left overs particullary the cross eyed cat who we felt sorry for. Sitting out in the square with the reflection of a beautiful sunset bounding of a shop window was perfect .It was all washed down with lots and lots of Efes ,served in litres with a tap so you could pour it yourself was a novilty . A beautiful , beautiful beer.

Before retiring to bed we took a short stroll to see the horse give by the Americans , however i was more taken by the Candy floss stall Troy .The stall holders never miss a trick to lure tourists in , it was a good job that i was far to full at that stage to eat more .
