A brief stopover from hell

A lot of people we had spoken to in Oz had told us not to bother going to Darwin mainly because there's not much to see there.  We had a one night stopever here en route to Bali, and can concur that everything they said was the absolute truth.

With a strange mix of Aboriginals and Europeans (much like Alice Springs) the overall feeling was a little tense.  We spent much of our time there just sitting around in cafe's, restaurants and parks (which was on and off considering the rain).  Finally, when we were about to reach absolute and paralysing boredom, it was time to head for the airport for our flight to Bali.
