So, we left Muito Bonito around 5pm, catching a 4-hour bus part of the way to Foz do Iguacu. We had to wait a couple of hours for our longhaul night bus, so headed into town for some dinner. Mon & I shared some soup, bread & cheese, which was very yummy! We killed the rest of our time on the Internet. The night bus left around 11pm, arriving in our interchange bus station some 8 or 9 hours later. Unfortunately, Mon & I spent so long getting off the bus that we missed our connection onto Foz. Ooops! Ah well, no big sweat. There was another bus an hour or so later which we were able to catch. In the meantime we had the chance to do a bit of shopping - more booze & some jewellery for me - as well as grab a coffee. The old lady in the greasey spoon started caressing my face & smiling - eek!

During the morning we visited the Brazilian side of the Iguacu Falls - one of the largest falls in the world & truly spectacular. Having never seen any big falls before, it was breathtaking - the falls just go on & on forever - 2 tiers about 1.5 mile. It is said that at some times during the year one can see as many as 275 separate waterfalls. Following this we hopped over the border into Paraguay - just to go shopping for a couple of hours! I bought a cute little watch (called a 'Watch', rather than a 'Swatch'!) & some fake tattoos, but little else! On the way back, driving over the bridge joining Paraguay to Brazil, we witnessed some illegal transportation of goods i.e. people lowering stuff from the bridge to boats waiting in the river below - some kind of tax evasion. Cool! Just like in the movies :o)

That evening we went to see a show which was tacky but great fun. One of those 'all you can eat' sit-down buffets which you scoff whilst being entertained. There were all kinds of performances, including Mexican singers, Capawara dancers (Indian street dancing/martial art) & fire twirlers. There was a certain element of audience participation but we were thankly too deeply ensconced within the crowds to be humiliated so.

The next day we ventured over to the Argentian side of the Iguacu Falls (our 3rd country within 2 days!). Not only did we venture by 4WD, train & foot to see the falls from this side, but we also took the plunge in a boat ride which took us right beneath the falls. A pretty non-exciting event which got us soaking wet & very cold!!! After this we headed back to Foz for the afternoon, where we went to the supermarket, book exchange (& met a friend of Levy's - Diego) & Internet. Mon & I went out for a lovely healthy dinner around the corner from our hotel & drank a bit too much wine :o)
