We arrived off the bumpy bus, had an hours sleep and then wandered round the Citadel and the Imperial city. The weather in Hue is the opposite to Hanoi-it is so hot and sunny and by the end of the morning we were baking and ready to collapse. We got a cyclo back to our hotel and had some lunch. Then we took a motorbike (with helmet!) ride to the beach, where we sat for the afternoon and relaxed. The sea was lovely and warm and the beach was almost deserted! On the way back, the driver took us through little villages and rice paddies and to see a beautiful japanese bridge before dropping us back in the centre. We had dinner and ice cream by the river before turning in for an early night. Hue is completely different to Hanoi- a lot less busy, a lot more relaxed and very beautiful.

The next day we took a dragon boat ride along the perfume river which took us to Thien Mu Pagoda, where there was some sort of festival going on. Then the boat took us to a conical hat and incense making village before going to the Tu Duc tomb. Then we got a motorbike back to Hue.

Hello!!! Thought you might like an update on us lot. Emeline has dyed her hair completely blonde and could be a plymate very easily. I have gone blonder and polly didn't notice. polly has either gone darker or redder and i didn't notice, and also i'm not sure which cos it was dark. she has also had it sort of more layered and possibly more of a fringe. and she is now going out with rory but leaves for america in thirteen days (how are me and em going to cope?!). my parents married at the weekend and all went well, weather was perfect, we all looked beautiful and the got us three surprises - they rented us a horse and cart to take us to the church - i was petrified(!) - they rented an ice-cream van for the reception which was lush, and they hired someone to give salsa lessons at the reception. it was a brilliant day but i am still recovering from the exhaustion. will bring over photos when you're back as i suspect third mummy jefferson will be interested too!!! and your grandma if she's around!!! they are now in new york and the girls and i meet them in greece on monday. emeline's birthday party is on saturday which we are all - except her mum - looking forward to enormously, and aji is doing work experience in a garage so he can learn how to fix his car. erm think that's pretty much everything, have emailed the others the link to this now so hopefully they will start commenting as much as i do. love you lots and keep safe!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
