We took a boat out to Elephant Island today. I agreed to pay R10 to a woman so I could take a picture of her carrying a large pot on her head. As I lined up the camera 2 other women jumped in beside her and demanded more money. I handed over a couple of coins and made my escape. We were quite late getting there and didn't have a lot of time to look at the caves. They don't compare with Ellora or Ajanta but they are worth having a look at if you are in Mumbai. Lynne was probably more impressed by the number of stalls selling souvenirs. After that we caught a sleeper train to Aurangabad. It was surprisingly comfortable but it was only a 6 hour journey so I kept waking up to check the time.
