Off to the West, but first a little more North.
Nice drive up along the Lake Michigan shore to the Mackinac Bridge across to the Upper Peninsula. If you don't like bridges (or heights, or high wind, or confined spaces) the Mackinac can be a real 'bridge'...
Do You Want A Stripper With That Sir ?
I guess the way to Bellingham is: Go to the Upper Peninsula and hang a left - so I did. Pointing West now. Beautiful drive along the top side of Lake Michigan all the way down to just North of Green Bay.

When you are in the Yooper, you have to stop and get a Pastie. It's a baked meat and potato foldover pie only slightly smaller than an average man's stomach. BUT, it's NOT pronounced like the little nipple covers. So, of course I mispronounce it and the guy at the little roadside restaurant gives me all the standard lines about "do you want a stripper with that sir ?", and "if you only order one...", etc.
BUT, it was enormous and delicious. Lasted me all the way through Michigan and part of Wisconsin.

Pretty uneventful drive across Wisconsin, nice and relaxing actually. Beautiful weather, sun roof open, music cranked.
Some randomly played "Top Of My Lungs" songs:
- Kaiser Cheifs - I Predict A Riot
- Janis Joplin - Me And Bobby McGee (not Dove)...
- Robbie Robertson - Unbound
