Well, today has been eventful. After a quiet night in - or as quiet as it gets when there are two or three sports teams staying, including what appears to be a girls hockey tour. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were the same team that I encountered in Heathrow! At the moment have two cool roomates, Americans in Australia for up to 8 months. So, all is good on that front. I went wandering on foot yesterday, because I believe

So, today. I got up earlier, breakfasted at Starbucks (I've developed a taste for Frappacinos, and I apologise for my spelling), and then headed straight for Wildlife World, in Darling Harbour. It is awesome! Seriously, any one who comes here should go - it's like a completley enclosed zoo in the middle of Sydney. They don't have kangaroos, but they do have koalas! Oh, by the way, do not mess with these - they may look cute and cuddly, but they hate being approached by humans. Plus, they sleep for 20 hours a day on average, and we all know what happens to things that sleep too much - they get grouchy. Ann, just for you, I've included at least one photo of them though. And for my mum, I included a photo of a wallaby who was so cool - he sat right behind the glass, totally unafraid of me, or anyone else. I suppose it's not great he's like that, but hey, what are you going to do? It almost looks like he's posing for me, the vain sod.

After that, I went to the National Maritime Museum, just across the harbour, and again, it is worth the visit, just for walking around the ships they have moored there. There is HMB Endevour, HMAS Vampire and HMAS Onslow. The last of these is a submarine only decommissioned eight years ago, but having served for some 30 years prior to that. I haven't included any photos, but trust me, I've got them. Oh, one thing that did stand out was the Beer Can boat, see the photo. Turns out there is a contest in Darwin every year, and loads of these things turn up - that particular one is really cool. I have a cunning plan....

Once done here, I wandered through the Harbourside shopping centre, and found something that I know Jacob and his dad would love to get their hands on - a fully signed 2001 Lions shirt. It didn't have a price tag, and considering that the shirt beneath, a signed 1999 Wallabies shirt worn in the World Cup final was at $999, I decided it best just to leave it.

Right now, not sure how I'm going to spend the rest of my day, as it's only just gone two in the afternoon. I might go to the Powerhouse Museuem, though also thought I might go down in the Rocks, take a look around. Tomorrow is Bridge Climb and Opera House day, including the Royal Botanical Gardens, so look forward to reading about that.
