Our next stop was Vinales and fortunately we were getting much better at guessing where the main roads were and made it in just a few hours.
We spent our first saturday night after dinner made at our Casa (our first home cooking experience which wasn´t too bad) at the local place to be in the Plaza. The place was absolutely heaving and people couldn´t wait to get up and dance. We even sat through the half time comedians despite the fact that we couldn´t understand a word they were saying!

The next day we checked out the local sights, an Indian Cave, a pre-historic mural (doubtful in my book) and then went for a walk with a local guide through the valley to see all the local farms and a couple of caves. It was extremely pretty although a bit hard going due to the heat of the sun.
We spent our last day in Vinales at the Santo Thomas caves where we had a great guide which made it really interesting and we looked great in our hard hats. In the afternoon we checked out Caye Jutia which was quite pretty but not as isolated and quiet as we might have hoped.
